Even tho we're still a few days away from having the results for Ludum Dare 48, there are 2,861 games tagged "ludum dare 48" on Itch.io. That's ~74% of the 3,866 submissions. Let's take a quick look.
- ~3% of the games were made with Godot. That's ~0.5% higher than the Godot games on other jams on itch.
Is this increase a big deal? I have no idea. Maybe the remaining games are 99.9% non-Godot for all we know, made by devs that know nothing of Itch and only ever participate on Ludum Dare.
Still, among the developers who play game jams AND use Itch, it really got higher, which is something!.
I'm gonna re check the Godot usage in game jams again, to see if there's a trend.
- Aseprite, Audacity, Blender, Gimp and Photoshop took the top 5 places on the tools most used for the games: 30, 17, 12, 11, and 10 games respectively
- As for the tags: Pixel art, 2D and single player are the overwhelming winners. The Pixel art tag is on 50 games (~57% of the total). 2D and Singleplayer, on 34 and 28 each.
The rest of the numbers are mostly negligible, except for 3D and atmospheric, tied in 4th place with 10 games each.
There's a "Short" tag in 12 games, but this are submissions for Ludum Dare so I think is safe to say being short is a given. I'm ignoring it.
I'm not messing with the ratings received until the results are out, but for what I've seen so far, the games are doing pretty ok on getting more than 20 ratings each. According to the Ludum Dare 48's stats, 63% of all entries already have 20 or more ratings.
A couple of the game are doing remarkably well tho, and I think they deserve mentioning:
They are at the top of this list if you sort by Popular.
Even if only participants are able to rate games on the Ludum Dare site, I would still recommend spending some time playing the games on Itch and maybe leaving the devs a comment.

Oddventure has reached its Kickstarter goal
Oddventure, a "crazy turn-based RPG about the misadventures of Charlie, a girl trapped in a cursed fairy-tale world.", is up to $31,606 on kickstarter right now, $7,435 more than its original goal of $24,171 (€20,000).
With still 21 days to go, this RPG, Made-with-Godot game already reached the $30,000 (€25,000) stretch goal for 2 additional endings and it's less than $5,000 away from the second stretch goal (€30,000) for "More unique enemies"
How to "Godot" on the Switch

Since people keep asking, how we made our game run on the Switch, I think it's time to start a proper thread on the topic, so we can collect all relevant information in one place.
These are the steps we took:
- Register as a Nintendo partner.
- Get a devkit from them.
- Get the proper platform modules for the Switch exports (we got ours from lonewolftechnology).
- Compile the Godot editor with the new modules and build the export templates.
- With that you should be able to create a nsp-file which you can run on the devkit.

- There's a Godot game on the April 2021 edition:
Number 13, Sisão, "a puzzle-platformer game where you play as Sisão, a guy that found an Oasis after a long walk of twenty days in the desert!".
I kind of wanna check every game on the channel to look for past Godot Games. I'm adding that to the pile.
